At the beginning of each season my friend Whitney and I like to make a to-do list of all the things we'd like to do during the next few months. Sometimes they are individual goals and sometimes they are goals of things we'd like to do or places we'd like to see together. Going to a random place was one goal and we ended up in Newport. The drive-in was another goal and we ended up going with lots of other people, too. Last Friday, we checked another item off our summer list when we spent the day in Boston. We took the T, which neither of us ever do. We walked around Copley and Boylston Street. We saw street performers and a rally in the Boston Common. We took pictures of the State House and walked through the Financial District. We walked off and on the Freedom Trail and down to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. We took the T home during not only rush hour but during the start of the Redsox game.
We didn't go with a plan other than to "spend the day in Boston". It's always fun to go into the city even though it's one that feels so close.
so fun! I love and miss that city. And i'm so proud of you for taking the T ;)
