A while back I posted this: the dilemma about changing my name after getting married. After weighing the options I've made a decision about what I'm going to do.
I contemplated all the choices -- keeping my name the same, hyphenating my name with his as well as changing it completely. And the third option is my final choice.
I'll miss my name, but I have to admit that I'm really excited to be the future Mrs. Duffy. If I didn't change my name... I couldn't actually claim to be the future Mrs. Duffy. Ya know?
I feel it would take out a certain amount of excitement in this whole wedding/marriage deal if I didn't take his name.
Plus, I really want to have monogrammed things... pillowcases, towels, tote bags. Maybe I'll get something with our initials on it at the shower! I hope, I hope!
i love that you're going to completely change your name. i'm a sucker for how sweet and romantic that is PLUS who doesnt love his and hers monogrammed stuff? ;)
ReplyDeletei opted to change my name and it was tough, not gonna lie. i now have the manliest name on the planet, haha :) but i'm glad i did it (and almost 6-months later still have to put the paperwork in) :)
