Our wedding is soon. Two months from TODAY to be exact.
And the thing is... everyone keeps pointing that out and right after they ask "so, what are you going to do with all your time?!"
This wedding and being engaged has taken over my life for the past 19 months. NINETEEN months. Crazy?! I've thought about it [at least] every five minutes... for the better half of those 19 months and it even comes up in my dreams. I think about the day, my family, my dress, the flowers, our first dance, DIY projects, the hotel, our pictures, our cake, not falling, the weather, the ceremony, the kiss, the marriage license, the honeymoon, the decorations, the food, the bridal party, the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner, transportation, makeup, hair, nails, shoes, jewelry, marriage, my something borrowed, our invitations, my shower, our thank you cards... get it?
Everything.
Somebody can say something completely unrelated to weddings and I'm somehow thinking about our photobooth. It's nuts. It really does take over -- in a totally positive and fun way, of course!
But the question of what I will fill my time up with after July 16th, is a good one.
And I think I have a partial answer. ;)
I really love blogging. I love reading blogs and I love writing on this one. So, even though I won't have a wedding to plan, talk about and obsess over after July 16th -- my blog name will still be valid because we'll still be Jasmine and Sean.
So I'm not planning on "going" anywhere.
And if you have a blog -- or read a number of blogs... you know that they take up a good amount of time! ;) So I'm not necessarily worried about filling up my post-wedding agenda.
Another thing I've added to my blog in preparation of continuing to blog after our wedding is the 101 in 1001 challenge. I loved the idea when I read about it and thought it would be fun to start today: May 16, 2011 (2 months or 61 days before my wedding). If you haven't already -- you should start your own! ;)
Feel ya girl! :) Ours is 3 months away and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about everything you just listed! :)
ReplyDeletei'm glad you're not planning on going anywhere. also, i feel ya when you say it takes over my life. i had to take a step back this weekend because i realized it was ALL i talked about (and i'm sure that annoys people). thing is, it's hard when it's all so exciting!
ReplyDeleteI agree it is a 24 -7 job planning a wedding but it's so fun! I am so glad you are sticking around for more blogging I think I am too and I love your 101 in 1001 ideas!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I am so glad you aren't going anywhere I love your blog. Plus, you are going to find so many other projects for yourself to do. You sound like you are a lot like myself, you don't stay "unbusy" I know not a word for long! :) Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI hated that question because people acted like you didnt have a life before planning a wedding! Yes i know it can get crazy and it seems to consume you...but there is life before and after it!
ReplyDeleteGoing to check out this 101 in 1001! Hope you're having a great day! And glad to hear you'll still be blogging after!
Not sure if I commented already about it but im glad you entered the lucky elephant giveaway! :)
i'll still be blogging too! not sure what the main focus of my blog will be...but I don't have time to think about that now..I'll just have to see where life takes me!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya girl! My friends make fun of me because I'm so wedding obsessed, they think I'll go in to a depression when it's over! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the 101 in 1001 idea! I'm doing something similar. I created a 30 before 30 list a while back with 30 things I want to do before I'm 30....luckily one of the things is get married! WHOOP!
Thanks for the sharing the information of wedding joy. It's a nice wedding planning by the couples.
