2 things...

First: I wanted to share this photo because it's a great picture of my MOH's and a perfect shot of the pearl necklace that I gave to all the girls. Maybe you remember, that the gifts were already wrapped when I realized I didn't take a picture of them!


Secondly: I wanted to share a picture of Sean and I. I can assume (because of where the picture is located on the disk) that it's taken toward the end of the night, during the last song which was:


If nothing else, I ALWAYS knew the last song of the night absolutely HAD to be this song. And it was a great way to end the reception!

The Aisle Music.

I thought long and hard about song choices for every part of the ceremony: while guests were finding their seats, the procession songs, and our exit song for after "I do".

I chose songs that had meaning, "lovey" lyrics, or classic tunes. And I was so excited about them.

And you know what? I didn't even get to hear them. :)

Not because they weren't played... or because there was some mistake. No! Of course not. Things went extremely smoothly and if they didn't I haven't found out yet.

No, because it never even occurred to me that while all my hard-thought out songs were played I would be locked inside the bridal suite... hidden away.

I never thought that I wouldn't be able to see Sean walk his mom down the aisle, or our grandmothers walked down... or our bridal party. It never even crossed my mind that I wouldn't be able to watch. How dumb!

But songs were still played... and these were our picks:

48 days!

Our rehearsal dinner is all booked! ;)

I'm so excited. Our venue only does their rehearsals on Wednesdays and Thursdays so even though our wedding is on a Saturday our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner will be two nights before. I'm a little excited about this because it means that on Friday nothing is planned (except for nails) and that hopefully it'll be a very relaxed and stress-free day (?!). Hopefully...

So after our rehearsal on that Thursday we have reservations at Luciano's. It's an Italian restaurant and we have a private room that has its' own private patio. ;)

Yesterday I put together a list of all the "must-have photos" for our photographer. It's a really long list... like really long. Most of the list is comprised of all the different combinations of people for our formal pictures. But I wrote everything down because I don't want to forget ANYONE: like at my shower I don't have a single picture of me and my matron of honor! WHAT were we thinking?! Things get busy and you forget... honestly. So I don't want that mistake to happen at the wedding!

And I figured out all our ceremony music. I would have loved to have someone play the piano, guitar, violin, etc., but it's just not in our budget. So, I'm putting my faith into the iPod. ;)

I also scheduled my first fitting for Sunday, June 12th!

And in non-wedding related news... today I accomplished one of my 101 in 1001: Hike a mountain. Sean and I went to Mount Monadnock in NH and it took 4 hours to go from the bottom to the top and back down again. I didn't have tears... but I wasn't at my best either.

;) I remembered! And oh, I guess it really isn't non-wedding related. Whoops! Is anything you do actually non-wedding related when you're getting married in 48 days?!

Music to my ears...

I've been putting "wedding music" into my Google search and coming up with lots of songs that I probably would never consider including at our wedding. But every once in a while I cross a song that may be possible to hear... during the reception or something. The other night I was thinking "what should I walk down the aisle to?".

I came across this song:

It's pretty and romantic and I loved it. It was [somewhat] familiar but different.

And then... it was vetoed! Wanna know why?

It's the same song that's played in Twilight... the first time Bella goes into Edward's room.

Now for me -- not a big deal! I'm obsessed... but for Sean -- it was an immediate: absolutely not.

So... I said "well, can't you just write me something to walk down the aisle to?" and he responded, "actually, yes".

And there you have it! An original song to narrate [one of] the most important moments in our lives. I think that's pretty perfect.

Oh my goodness...

I know, I know -- I'm slacking on the blog posts! It's so hard to think of something interesting and poignant every day. I haven't stopped researching... but nothing seems to be good enough, long enough, or elaborate enough to justify a post.

But I have something today! It's not something I just came across... it's something that I wrote off a while ago because of the cost. Not to say that I'm bringing it up again because we've suddenly come into money -- no, no, no. I'm bringing it up because I like the idea and I really enjoy the thought behind it.

IMAGINE! Having them during our ceremony! How romantic and sweet and cute! I love that they will play any song you can think of! What a great idea... OF COURSE it would be so expensive.. =(
