The Ceremony:

I blogged and blogged about our letter in a wine box ceremony that we were doing. So here it is:

The box: (from Home Goods)

The inside of the box with the glasses (Crate & Barrel, engraved at Things Remembered), the wine and our love letters:

The box with the ribbons for our Celtic tying the knot ceremony:

When I first starting to take the walk down the aisle I was nervous. I was nervous because I don't walk well in heels and my shoes were high! I was nervous because 140 people were staring at me and I was nervous because about half-way through my walk... there were 3 measly steps I had to take. Steps UP that is...

And I tried to take those steps. But... I got stuck.

As in, I LITERALLY couldn't move. My dress wouldn't allow my legs to bend. :) So my daddy had to lift my dress for me. And when I got to the top I sighed a huge sigh of relief -- comic relief that is... and it came at a perfect time because my Groom... well, he was losing it. :) But after my little "incident" he smiled.

While we were standing up there, it was weird to me that I hadn't gotten a chance to greet our guests yet! I had been hidden, remember? So, I found myself making eye contact with guests and smiling and mouthing "hi!" but then I thought... hmm, this is a little serious "LET'S FOCUS". haha. Our officiant was amazing and the reading we chose was perfect -- and something I'll definitely share, but in another post.

We said our vows (and neither of us stuttered)... and exchanged rings:

And after that (literally it was like 20 minutes, maybe shorter...) and a couple "I do's" it was done:

And we kissed:

I took my flowers back... aren't they pretty?

And this time, my HUSBAND had to help me on those steps:

And then came the formal pictures during cocktail hour.

I won't be blogging the formal pictures because those are shots I'd rather wait for our professional pictures to share. So tomorrow will be the start of the reception and the beginning of all my DIY projects. Are you pumped? :)

Winner? Not so much...

Yesterday my mom and I went to that bridal show I was talking about. Do you remember?

Well, I was really excited because they had a raffle... and the prize was $10,000 toward your wedding!

Amazing right? It sounds perfect? Well....

What they failed to mention to me (through email, or in person) was that you could actually only WIN the raffle... if you HAD NOT yet booked your wedding!

UHM?! WHAT? I read the fine print... and that wasn't anywhere in it.

We spent wasted our Sunday afternoon (3.5 hours to be exact!) because they were pretty clear that to be entered you had to arrive early and be present for the drawing at 3:30 (which ended up being more like 4PM).

So we waited around... and waited... and waited... and right before the woman chose a name she said, "of course, if you're already booked here with us you're not eligible to win this prize".

haha. [completely sarcastically].

No, honestly all we could do was laugh. Because, of course, that would happen.

But it wasn't all bad... because my cake bakery was there -- so we ate cake, and my florist was there:

And I got free stuff! Like makeup (great colors... which is rare!), and "his" & "hers" t-shirts! I'm sure they'll be making an appearance on the blog on some point.

All in all... I was disappointed but was able to laugh it off -- the entire ride home.

A small update...

So I'm a little sad because I've been feeling like I can't do much more right now. I still have so much time before our big day and I've already done so much...

But! Today I emailed our photographer in an effort to set-up a date to shoot our engagement photos! So more on that, once I hear back.

I also emailed Tenara, at Christina's, to let her know our list of names & vendors we've chosen to work with. And asked her a couple questions that have been on a running list I keep... =)

We [and by we - I mean my mom, Barb & me, and I know it's not proper etiquette] have also been working on possibly setting dates for an Engagement Party =) and my shower =)

I know, it's a little early, I want to give people a heads up, ya know? So maybe people have more of a chance to come! =)

I've also been keeping a running list of cute ideas I want to include at the wedding but part of me is hesitant on giving out too much info on our blog. I mean, I want some surprises!

So, don't assume, because I'm not posting that I'm not researching and obsessing -- because I certainly am. Just ask Sean. =)
