Is there ever really enough time?

I'm smiling, but a little sad.

Today marks my last official day of vacation. Two weeks. Literally flew by.
I don't count Saturday and Sunday because I would have them off anyway.

Most people hear that and say "be glad you got two weeks", "you're lucky".
And oh, I know.

But I just feel that two weeks at home really shows you how quickly time flies. I'm able to do anything I want. Stay up late. Sleep in until noon. Watch TV. Clean all day. Do laundry. Go out with friends. See my family. Hang out with Apollo. Blog often. Make plans freely. Do nothing. Not think about work.

I haven't driven my car (with the except of moving it for snow bans) since December 23rd. December twenty-third. Two thousand twelve. Which means I haven't needed to buy gas (I still have a full-tank).

I haven't needed to wake up at 5:15 in the morning, go outside in the frigid cold to start my car 30 minutes before I'm ready to leave, or fight with traffic to get to work on time.

I haven't needed to leave for work when it's still dark out only to return home when it's already dark out thus eliminating any sense of motivation for me to get out and do something other than work during the day.

I've enjoyed my time. Not to say that I've used my time wisely.
No. No.
I did not.

Had I used my time wisely... it wouldn't still feel like Christmas in here.
My decorations would be put away and winter decorations would be seen.

Had I used my time wisely... all of the laundry would be done -- jackets, scarves, mittens, blankets and all the other bulky stuff I "save" for the next load would be washed and dried.

Had I used my time wisely... my thank you cards would already be in the mail rather than sitting next to me while I type.

Had I used my time wisely... the kitchen would be organized instead of things thrown in the cabinets and drawers.

Had I used my time wisely... I'd be on book 4 rather than book 1 of Harry Potter.

Had I used my time wisely... we would have food and I would have gone grocery shopping more than once.

But I've enjoyed my time.
I've enjoyed blogging every day. Taking pictures. Being with friends and family. Going out with Sean after dinner. Taking naps with Apollo. Creating a facebook page. Catching up on daytime TV. Watching movie marathons of things I've seen a million times. Dreaming up vacation plans and searching them on google maps. Organizing things halfway only to get bored and leave the piles "for later".

Isn't that what a staycation is all about?
I think so.
And I definitely feel like I succeeded in that.

Today's goal is to finish up the odds and ends of everything I started over the past two weeks. I have 8 hours until Sean gets home from work.
I'll keep you posted.

Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp

It's no surprise that I'm not a total fan of the lady who leads this family:

via.

I mean, I could go on and on about politics and how I feel she is unintelligent and incapable of delivering a speech that doesn't berate others or spread hatred.

But I won't go on... and on.

AND, of course, I'm able to put aside my extremely liberal beliefs for an hour of Lifetime TV to watch this:

via

And Tuesday night, that's exactly what I did.
Or tried to do.
I swear.

I made Sean watch with me.
HE WAS THRILLED.
Sarcasm?

The show immediately follows Dance Moms, which could possibly feature the world's most ridiculous mothers... so once Bristol and Tripp appeared on the screen it was a breath of fresh air... or at least they weren't yelling.

I'm not going to give a full recap. There's plenty of stories going around online right now.

I will say:

Bristol cries a lot.
Too much for an hour TV show.
In fact, I could just as easily switch the channel and turn on Teen Mom.
If I wanted the tears.
There would be no difference.

Bristol comes off as self-centered and entitled.
Especially while shopping and talking about CA.
And basically putting down every single thing about LA.

Bristol is mean to her sister.
And uses a guilt trip to convince her to move away from family and friends.
Willow is 17... why isn't she in school?
And she's babysitting Bristol's kid, all the time?
Except when the two of them are out together... without Tripp??
What's that about?!
Who's with the baby if "they don't know anyone in LA"?

I was confused.

So confused, in fact, that I'll tune in next week.
And probably the week after that, too.
Unless it gets canceled, because apparently no one else in the world watched.

Well, not many anyway.

T.V. Commitments.

It's been about a month since most of the new shows of the season have begun and I've committed to so many! (Possibly too many?)

For instance:

Monday: 2 Broke Girls, Two and a Half Men, Hart of Dixie, The Lying Game.
Tuesday: 90210, Ringer, Raising Hope, Parenthood.
Wednesday: Criminal Minds, Up All Night, Suburgatory, Happy Endings.
Thursday: The Big Bang Theory, The Secret Circle, Whitney.

Normally, I DVR a bunch of shows and by week 2 or 3... I drop a couple just because I don't like them as much as I thought I would. But this season? No, not so much. I haven't dropped a single show and I'm still interested in them all! If anything, I just keep adding shows to my schedule.

So what do I think? Here's my T.V. recap:

- 2 Broke Girls & Whitney are both hysterical. I'm such a fan of Whitney Cummings and love when she's on Chelsea Lately.
- I love Ashton on Two and a Half Men but then again, I was never a fan of of Charlie Sheen.
- 90210 holds a special place in my heart as does Sarah Michelle Gellar in Ringer and Rachel Bilson in Hart of Dixie-- I watch Ringer out of pure devotion to SMG...

- Parenthood is an amazing show that EVERY SINGLE person should watch -- set your DVR to record it now... plus Lauren Graham is almost as amazing in it as she was in Gilmore Girls.
- Up All Night, Suburgatory, Raising Hope, and Happy Endings are all around funny shows -- pretty different in plots but the dialogues are quick and hysterical and they're sitcoms that Sean enjoys, too.
- Criminal Minds has been back to being AMAZING ever since they brought back Paget Brewster and A.J. Cook.
- The Big Bang Theory is hilariously funny and Sean and I love watching it together!
- The Secret Circle is interesting and I can tell I'll be hooked very shortly... I've LOVED Britt Robertson since the first episode of Life Unexpected.
- And, The Lying Game? Well... I watch it just because I love seeing their outfits...

What's everyone else watching?!
