Give it a try, you'll love it.

Today is a very special day because the band that Sean plays guitar in, I Invent, has released their first EP. This is a big deal for anyone whose dream is to put music out into the world.

It's available, for free (!), and I highly suggest you give it a try. It's metal music but it has pretty parts (meaning -- there's singing and it's not just screaming). It's impressive music with fun melodies and deep lyrics. If nothing else, just know, that this album has been a huge part of all our lives for the past 6 months. The boys, as well as the girls (girlfriends, fiancees, wives) have been living and breathing this EP for what seems like an eternity. In the best sort of way, of course. My listening ear has been there through the writing, the practicing, the recording, the rough edits, the "no I don't like this anymore"... and now finally, the product. It's exciting!

So, you can listen to their new EP through links on their facebook. Or if all goes well and this link is correct (I'm writing this days in advance so it may not be right...) here's a direct link to the album. Did it work? :)

And if you're interested here are some videos they created while recording this album:

Enjoy your day!

Weekly Recap + a Happy Birthday post!

On the blog:
Wednesday: Happy spring.
Thursday: My first ever vlog.

Happy Saturday!

The 8:27 brown paper packages have been opened.
They were a success.
Sean is anxiously awaiting the 11:27 presents.
As is Apollo, who can't seem to get enough of the wrapping paper.

Then we're off to lunch, a day in Boston, and dinner tonight.
And hopefully, we'll be home for the 9:27 presents, or they'll have to be pushed back.
*gasp!*

 Sean Nerbit, Happy 27th Birthday!
I hope you enjoy your sushi lunch, a day outside (even though it's in the 30's),
and Indian cuisine for dinner.
I know you wouldn't want to spend your day any other way,
and I don't want to spend my days with anybody else. :)

I made pinky promises that I wouldn't complain about the food or the weather,
and that I would give unlimited back rubs to you today.
If anything all these things make me realize how good I have it,
or rather -- how good you are to me...
364 days out of the year.

I love you with all my heart.
You're my best friend.
You're an amazing husband.
And, you make me laugh.
Every.single.day.

So, Happy Birthday!
[Here's to pretending I love sushi, chicken tikki masala, and 30 degree weather.]

:)

Brown paper packages.

Tomorrow is Sean's birthday.
A few weeks ago, I came across this and I thought it was adorable.
It's a way to spread gifts throughout the entire day to make it fun, exciting, and last.
You get the recipient a bunch of gifts (they can be as small as candy or as big and extravagant as you'd like),
you wrap them individually,
and designate a time to open each of them.
I chose down to the minute 27 since he's turning 27.
In the original post, one gift is given each hour between 8AM - 8PM.
But I know that Sean will want to go do things on the day of his birthday.
So I decided to do a morning (8:27), around noon (11:27) and a night (9:27) thing.

I'm really excited for his birthday to come and for him to open his presents.
Isn't gift-giving the best? :)

Facts about me.

I thought I'd share some tidbits today.
Everyone's doing it, so why not?

First things first: you could obviously read my about me.
Don't want to click anything?
Totally understandable.
If you're new in these parts of blogland,
here's what you should know.

1. One time I met Oprah... at the wax museum.
But we shared a moment. I swear.

2. I make this face when I'm confused.
Or when I'm angry that the Dublin zoo took my admission ticket...
which means I can't keep it to scrapbook.

3. My worst fear is drowning.
I can't be in the water without some type of flotation device.
Even though I look calm in this picture... there were probably tears at some point.

4. I don't drink alcohol.
I make this face when I do.

5. I force animals to be close to me.
I can't help it.
I just love them.

6. I love spending time with my husband. He's the best and we have so much fun together.

That's all for today.
I guess I'm just an Oprah loving, slightly confused, aqua-phobic, non-alcohol drinking, animal obsessed...
wife, in love with her husband.

Sean's new band: i invent.

Sean and some friends formed a new band.
Which is a good thing because since the break-up of Widow Sunday, his last band...
He's been antsy. And motivated to get something new started.

I'm really proud that he's the type of guy that will make things happen for himself.
When he believes in something, he goes for it and his passion is unyielding.
And when he no longer sees something working out for him, he walks away.
Life's too short, right?

His new band includes some past band members, some long-term friends, and some new friends that will soon become family.
That tends to be how a band works.
You're suddenly in a relationship with four more people, plus their significant others.
It's strange, but interesting.

So, here's to i invent.

...May the odds be ever in your favor.
