Wanna see...

...our save the date?!

I know it took a crazy long time for the picture to be posted! I'm so behind. But I love our save the dates and I ordered them from Wedding Paper Divas. It was so easy and pretty affordable -- which is really nice, too!

A jewelry post...

Well, you see, I have something to share. But since this website apparently won't upload photos at this time -- I guess I can't complete the true purpose of this post; which was to show the necklace I'd like to wear with my dress. Is there some type of stigma about revealing jewelry like there is with revealing your dress? Maybe fate is stepping in by not allowing me to post a pic.

I seem to be busy lately. And even though, I've been sitting on the couch for the past 4 hours (in between doing laundry and cleaning, of course) I haven't had much time lately to update the blog. Not because I have nothing to say, because I do. And not because the website has been difficult, because it hasn't. But I swear, I'm busy!

Between work and work related activities and thanksgiving (after all I'm in charge of a pie here!) and holiday shopping and planning my cookie swap party and trying to move... getting out the save the dates was a major accomplishment! And I'm so sad I haven't even posted about that, yet!

I don't even think I've shown you my purchases! My perfect purchases!

Hopefully this long weekend will present many opportunities to post things. =)

One step closer....

Most of our save the dates have been mailed. =)

And, I'm hearing that some people have received them already!

Later in the week, I'll show what was inside!

Two hundred forty-four days left.

Purchases & Progress!

I've officially purchased two wedding related items! Well, not counting my dress.

And once I take pics of them... I'll make the reveal! =)

Unfortunately, the purchases are in the "wedding room" at my parents house and we're going to DC this weekend... so maybe some time next week I'll be able to get some pictures.

AND, half the save the dates are ready to go in the mail. Yay!

Excitement!

I've been slowly -- very slowly -- putting together our save the dates.

When I say slowly, I mean last week I stuffed the envelopes and this week I may seal them.

Next week, I may stamp them. And in November maybe I'll address them...

Just kidding!

I don't know why I can't get my act together! It's definitely true that I've waited a whole week from the time the envelopes were stuffed -- to now... and I've done nothing!

Partly, because when I do a project I like to have all the pieces... and when I don't have all the pieces [like ALL the addresses] I feel like even if I finish the project -- it's still technically incomplete. I don't like that...

So, once I have everything... I'll get myself together and seal envelopes, address, stamp and mail them!

I have two maids of honor... well technically, one is a matron -- and during her last visit out here she ordered both of their dresses for the wedding... I just got word their dresses are in the store! Since, they both live in California, I'm going to pick them up this weekend! I'm so excited to have them in my possession.

Some updates!

I'm really slacking on my duties here on the wedding blog & people have let me know! I never really knew how many people read my posts daily until I stop posting every day.

So what's going on?

Well! Last Sunday, my mom and I spent about 3.5 hours, yes you read that right -- three and a half hours, at Bed Bath & Beyond... registering for literally everything. Someone opted out of the excursion, probably keeping in mind the events that unfolded a few months ago at Macys. Nothing bad happened... but it sure was a long night.

I realized a couple of things during this process. Here goes:

1. It's really hard to register at more than one store. I kept seeing all these great things at BB & B but telling myself I was pretty/almost/maybe "sure" that I already registered for these great things some place else.

AND...

2. It's really hard to register for things when you don't have a house in mind to decorate. We'll move again before the wedding but don't plan on having our own house until a few years from now. But I still want to register for gifts we'd need/want at a house... or else we may never get the chance to have these things. Right?

In other news:

I've been receiving lots of phone calls recently from vendors I must have met many months ago at all the bridal shows I attended. I feel like everyone is going through their lists again and making calls -- which is somewhat annoying to me because I don't need to book anything else [I don't think]. So now I'm having to screen calls... again -- just like I was doing back in the winter time.

Next:

Bridesmaid shoes?!

I love the color & the style. But they may be too high. =(

But the price is right where I'd like it to be and they're literally what I pictured for the bridesmaids...

Another drawback along with the height is that I've only found them online [not in stores] so what if they order them and they don't fit... or aren't comfortable? I'd like everyone to try them on first...

I don't want anyone to be in pain...

And then:

I think I've literally posted these shoes like 4 times. I love, love, love them. And I want them. So I think my decision is made.

For a while I wanted blue shoes... but now I think I want blue ballet flats for the day of the wedding while getting ready. It'll be cute.

Now that our save the dates are in... we have to get addresses! But suddenly I'm realizing that I don't know anyone's address... at all. Not even close family or friends. So strange...

I guess the internet has really taken over everything.

Yes!

Our Save the Dates arrived in the mail today! And, we love them.

=)

So exciting!

I just placed the order for our save the dates! =) And I reallllllly hope they're as perfect when we get them as they look on the computer screen.

I saved $10 because there was a sale. But shipping was almost $8 so basically I got free shipping. I only ordered 70 and hope that's enough. If it's not I guess I can always order more. No big deal.

Oh! & I tried on my dress the other day. It's still as wonderful as I remember.

Yay!

9.03.2010

A real commitment.

I designed our save the dates! I think they're beautiful. I love everything about them. They're in my cart online. But I'm nervous to order them!

What if there's a mistake? What if a picture's not centered? What if the margins are wrong? What if? What if? What if?

I'm going to sleep on it.

In the morning, if they still look as perfect as they do right now... I'm making a commitment toward them. Decision made!

Once I have those... it'll feel like time is passing. Rather than just standing still.

And then, I can move onto stamps...

Practice, practice, practice

The most amazing thing about planning a wedding now [I think!] is that I could virtually do it through the computer screen -- while laying on my couch.

Though, I've absolutely enjoyed bridal shows, visiting venue after venue, meeting with djs & photographers & photo booth rentals & officiants & florists, and traveling to hotels to find the best room block rates -- I have to admit that I LOVE being able to do things on the laptop, as well.

For instance, look at this save the date! After finding the website, choosing a layout, uploading a few pics & changing the font/size/color of the wording -- this was my [slightly time-consuming] but completely gorgeous outcome! I didn't even have to move! How can you go wrong?!

It's a mock-up. It's not the final... I don't know what style we'll choose or which pictures we'll include... the wording may be different -- we haven't decided. But when boredom overcomes me [& when there's nothing on tv or left on our dvr] -- I'm glad I can rely on Wedding Paper Divas to fulfill my time... while lounging in my pj's.

And, hey - practice makes perfect. Right?

Beautiful!

Now that it's finally Monday, a full week has officially passed since our engagement pictures last Sunday. This means that the countdown to our 3-4 week wait time has decreased by a full week... leaving me to wait [somewhat patiently] for only another 2-3 weeks.

Although I've done a relatively good job on the blog not mentioning the fact that I can't wait for these photos to arrive in my email & on a CD in my mailbox downstairs... if you've been around me at all these past eight days, you know that when the conversation has a break in it or I forget that the whole world isn't as invested in this wedding as I am -- I bring up these said photos and how much I am completely anticipating their arrival.

I'm excited for the pictures for a number of reasons. Of course, I'm going to look through them, post them on the blog, on facebook and email everyone I hope cares enough to look through them.

And of course, I'm going to print most, maybe even all, and buy frames and boards and display them all over the apartment until I weird myself out and realize that's pretty creepy and self-centered of us me [but, seriously, who really visits? -- and this method of decorating is completely acceptable in my mind].

But the real reason I can't wait for these pictures is because I want to choose our save-the-dates!

I feel I can't choose the style until I see our pictures... and then, and only then, will I be able to pick what fits best. I don't think our save-the-dates will follow the "theme" of the wedding because I don't really have one and even though our color scheme involves pink I don't think I want the save-the-dates to follow in that direction.

I've found that Wedding Paper Divas has everything & anything and their selection for save-the-dates are sooo cute!

I have to admit that I'm not familiar with good & bad prices for save-the-dates so while I think their products are amazing I don't know if they are good for the cost.

I've known girls to make them themselves and spend $30 on postage and girls who have them made and spend hundreds & hundreds... so I think it's all what's within your budget. For us, cheap is good but if it's amazing... I'll find a way to fit it in the budget, someplace.
