Professional Pictures!

While we were away on our honeymoon (!) our professional pictures arrived! I was obviously so excited about them and they're perfect and exactly what I imagined. So I really want to post some - not all - there are 1,600 of them. Here are some shots from when we arrived at the venue. :)

We arrived with our hair and makeup done so all we had to do was get dressed!

Our pictures were taken by Damien Gaudet.

More tomorrow :)

Bachelorette!

I've had a very busy week/weekend.

I got my nails done yesterday:

Bright? :) Well, I think they are very "bachelorette party" worthy -- which is exactly what I did this weekend! We went into Boston and stayed at the Onyx Hotel ate lots and lots and saw an improv show -- which was probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen! It was so much fun and I'm so glad I was able to go!

Also! I finally had success at finding a rehearsal dinner dress (and jewelry to match!):

And the shoes:

Remember how excited I was to check the 10 day weather forecast?! Well, that stupid app stressed me out for 3 days when it kept showing this:

See that? That 60% chance of rain and lightning bolt icon. WELL, luckily that has since changed to sunny with a 20% chance of rain. Ughhh. I just need to stop checking....

Sean started giving me my wedding presents ;) the first one:

It's a book he specifically made (words and pictures). It's the cutest thing and one day (soon) I'm going to do a in-depth post about it because it's really amazing!

It definitely feels like the wedding festivities have begun. It's busy and hard to keep up. But fun. Really fun.

Groomsmen Socks.

I told you about We Love Colors, right?

Well, originally I ordered the orchid pink socks for all the groomsmen because I want pictures like this:

And when they came they were bubble gum pink. Bubble gum. I couldn't even take a picture. And nothing against bubble gum pink. I love all pinks. But it just wasn't right... with all the other pinks in the wedding... ya know?

So I sent them back. Quickly. And even quicker, I got an email from the company asking me if I needed help finding the exact pink since it seemed like I was on the hunt. ;) how nice!

When they mailed me the new socks in Fuchsia... the coloring was much better. And much closer to my vision...

After all... these are the bridesmaid shoes:

And, now I'm thrilled. ;)

Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King, Jr.

I'm still pretty much in love & obsessed with my shoe purchase!

And today was really successful, too!

I figured out the hotel fiasco. Remember how they wouldn't call/email me back.. and weren't helpful?

WELL! I found a hotel that did email me back, and was helpful! So I'm going to sign the contract and mail it back tomorrow! So I consider that as an accomplishment!

I called a shuttle service and they were so helpful and pretty reasonable with pricing so now I just need to make a decision!

I emailed our photographer about having a first look photo session! We're going to do it! I know it's not traditional and not the norm... but I think it's so cute!

And my bridesmaid/cousin Lindsey found me a make-up person! I have a trial set for March 19th... which is also my bridal shower so I'll look all fancy! ;)

Today was great! Great, great, great.

And now for some Twilight & bed. Yay!

Progress!

Although I went to the mall today to find a shower dress, I ended up at DSW, and bought......

My wedding shoes!

I know they're not blue, like I said I wanted. And they aren't any of the shoes I've posted about. But when I walked into DSW they were the first shoe that caught my eye. I was drawn to them and couldn't resist trying them on. First, I tried on the 7's and they were a little tight, so I tried on the 7.5. They fit really well but just to make sure I tried the 8's which fell right off of my foot they were so huge!

Not having anyone with me, I sent my mom a picture, quickly...

And just like that, I bought them! Normally, I stand and think, and hold and put back down, and walk around and come back, and stare at the shelf. But today... no, no. Not today. I tried them on, held them, walked around quickly, just to say I looked around, found the register, asked about the return policy (you know, in case they don't match THE dress), paid and left. Just.Like.That.

Easy.

=)

Oh yeah & when I got to my parents house I had a photo shoot with their dachshunds. [they are absolutely staring at the pieces of chicken my mom is holding!] So cute!

Happy Sunday!

I do, stickers.

I'm going to order these. Absolutely, positively. =)

PS... the shoes are pretty great, too.

Some updates!

I'm really slacking on my duties here on the wedding blog & people have let me know! I never really knew how many people read my posts daily until I stop posting every day.

So what's going on?

Well! Last Sunday, my mom and I spent about 3.5 hours, yes you read that right -- three and a half hours, at Bed Bath & Beyond... registering for literally everything. Someone opted out of the excursion, probably keeping in mind the events that unfolded a few months ago at Macys. Nothing bad happened... but it sure was a long night.

I realized a couple of things during this process. Here goes:

1. It's really hard to register at more than one store. I kept seeing all these great things at BB & B but telling myself I was pretty/almost/maybe "sure" that I already registered for these great things some place else.

AND...

2. It's really hard to register for things when you don't have a house in mind to decorate. We'll move again before the wedding but don't plan on having our own house until a few years from now. But I still want to register for gifts we'd need/want at a house... or else we may never get the chance to have these things. Right?

In other news:

I've been receiving lots of phone calls recently from vendors I must have met many months ago at all the bridal shows I attended. I feel like everyone is going through their lists again and making calls -- which is somewhat annoying to me because I don't need to book anything else [I don't think]. So now I'm having to screen calls... again -- just like I was doing back in the winter time.

Next:

Bridesmaid shoes?!

I love the color & the style. But they may be too high. =(

But the price is right where I'd like it to be and they're literally what I pictured for the bridesmaids...

Another drawback along with the height is that I've only found them online [not in stores] so what if they order them and they don't fit... or aren't comfortable? I'd like everyone to try them on first...

I don't want anyone to be in pain...

And then:

I think I've literally posted these shoes like 4 times. I love, love, love them. And I want them. So I think my decision is made.

For a while I wanted blue shoes... but now I think I want blue ballet flats for the day of the wedding while getting ready. It'll be cute.

Now that our save the dates are in... we have to get addresses! But suddenly I'm realizing that I don't know anyone's address... at all. Not even close family or friends. So strange...

I guess the internet has really taken over everything.

If the shoe fits... put it back in the box for the wedding day!

You may or may not remember that one of the things pretty high up on someone's wedding wish list is the ability to wear these shoes sneakers during the ceremony & reception.

Now, I have to admit these shoes have a special place in my heart as well. I don't remember Sean ever wearing another shoe -- in the winter I beg him to wear boots & on special occasions I remind him to wear his dress shoes [which he refers to as his pilgrim shoes]... but by choice & routine these shoes are on his feet from morning to night, weekday to weekend, work to play. He wears them so often that he's gone through four pairs of these very shoes since we've been together.

Because of his attachment to these shoes -- we knew they had to make an appearance in the engagement pictures as well. But on Saturday morning we looked down at his feet and saw seven-month old, ratty, torn, dirty sneakers and realized -- that will not do.

We ran to the store to buy a new pair and decided that rather than continue to wear these brand new spiffy-sneaks... they should be put back in the box only to be taken out again on the day of the wedding. The upside: we're saving money, we already have his shoes & he loves them. Three positive things out of one purchase makes everything a little brighter.

Along with his kicks, he sported jeans, a black shirt and a black Redsox hat.

I ended up wearing extremely casual clothes. While I'd love to say that dresses and stilettos are what I feel most comfortable in -- it'd be a lie. I always feel like my dress is too short even if it's below my knees and my shoes always feel too high even if they're flats. I'm just not a fancy-clothes-type girl. And when I try, I feel as though pictures can always capture exactly how uncomfortable I am.

So, I opted for metallic ballet flats, dark jeans, a gray short-sleeved shirt with a black tank top underneath. OBVIOUSLY, I wore my ring but my other jewelry included sapphire earring studs and a silver bracelet.

I, not only, enjoyed my outfit -- but I felt completely comfortable and satisfied that in five years I won't regret my clothing choice because its' since gone out of style.

Successful? I think so...

Weekend Update!

I know I've posted these before but I think these shoes would be a perfect item for my something blue! My only concern is that I need shoes with a bit of a heel so that I don't have to hem my dress. But they would be perfect shoes to change into during the reception! I could dance the night away... as long as I don't trip on my dress, that is.

Yesterday, Lizzie came to David's Bridal with me to try on the bridesmaid dress. It looked really great on her! I thought it was going to be huge but it fit pretty well. I'm so excited!

Let's see... what else is new?

I'm in the process of putting something together for all my bridesmaids that I hope to get finished before my trip to Seattle this Wednesday. We'll see... we'll see. More on that once it's sent out, of course!

I'm getting really excited about our engagement photo shoot which is scheduled for the first of August. I'm not really sure what to wear but I know I'll figure it out soon enough!

I've also asked Christina's if I could come in this week to look at the ceremony area now that it's summer and the flowers have [most likely] bloomed. Last time I was there, it was cold and there were definitely no flowers in sight. So I'd love to see what I can expect for next year around this time. We'll see... we'll see.

12-months to-go

One year from today -- at exactly this time -- "we" [which is actually me because Sean needs all of 15-minutes to get ready for things] will be getting ready to walk down the aisle!

Exciting? I think so...

P.S. - how cute are these shoes? They wouldn't satisfy the need for my something blue on my feet but they are a close second best.
