Weekly Recap & Valentine's Day.

On the blog:

It's the middle of February, otherwise known, as President's Day weekend,
or more importantly... a long weekend.
Yay!
I'm so happy that my immune system failed me on the Friday before this 4-day long weekend.
Thanks.
Sean thinks it's funny to see me, in bed, with 2 boxes of tissues (back-up for when the first runs out), my laptop, my tablet, a bottle of water, glass of soda, cell phone, Apollo, glasses, etc., etc., etc.
Basically I don't need to move for a couple of hours.
And that's my plan.

How was this week?
It was great!
Minus a visit to the dentist, who I blame for my current bill of health, as well as my low bank account.
We also had more snow this week.
Which caused me to sleep at my parent's house (to avoid any driving mishaps),
but I got to sleep with two dachshunds.
We went to the movies and saw Identity Thief. Hilarious. Go see it.

AND because we spent so much money at Regal, they gave us free movie tickets that I'm pretty confident we'll use this weekend as long as I can keep my eyes open.
I'd like to see this:

My other half doesn't agree.

Valentine's Day was fantastic, complete with tasty Italian food at a restaurant with a screaming hostess and a stressed out waitress (super romantic, let me tell ya), and great gifts.
It's the thought that counts, but it's super when the gifts are nice, too!
Once I have enough energy to take pictures, I'll blog about the gifts.
Oh, and the AMAZING card Sean made me.

It's amazing.

It's a sick world we live in these days.

Oh, you're wondering why we've never mentioned we had a child?
Not to worry... these medications are mine.
You may be confused at the sight of all children's medicine labels.
I'm part of the 40% of adults believe it or not, that cannot swallow pills.
Which means when I'm sick... it's a lot of grape flavored chewables and bubblegum liquid meds.

My doctors appointment today was fast.
Usually they throw me in the room and forget about me.
But today they were on top of their game.
She came right in and said "you know I can't let you leave without a flu shot."
But it wasn't phrased as a question like... "you know...?"
It was a statement.
And I started to have a slight panic attack.
I hate shots.

I went through the exam first for sinuses: I have a sinus infection.
Next for my ears: I have an ear infection.
Next for my throat: I may have strep throat. They have to "grow" it. Whhhhat?

I thought I was in the clear and that she would hopefully forget about the shot.
But apparently, she was on top of her game because as I stood up she asked which arm I preferred.
I told her I didn't think it was necessary but ultimately had to choose my left arm.

I drove to the pharmacy, tearing up and feeling bad for myself.. and my arm.
Only to arrive at CVS to sign my life away.
Honestly
If teenagers could stop making meth with children's Sudafed... that'd be great.
I had sign for it in three different places and have my license scanned and put into "the system".
Is that necessary?
Well apparently, it is.

So, all in all, after the doctors, CVS, and a little love and cuddles from Apollo...
I'm on the road to recovery and we're waiting for Sean to get home. :)

The Emergency Room... what?!

So this past week, I spent 5 hours of my time (and my mom's) in the ER. Why you ask? Well, apparently when you have asthma [like I do] it's important you take the appropriate medications especially when you are sick with strep throat [like I am].

So I, literally, couldn't breathe. You know, sometimes, when you use the expression 'like I couldn't even breathe!'. Well, legit, I couldn't breathe. I couldn't catch my breath. Which is not a good feeling. It's like you're drowning.

But anyway! I came home to a very worried husband and some get breathe well treats!

If you haven't yet seen, In Time (one of my breathe well treats), with Justin Timberlake... you should! It was really good.

Guess what?

Hey, guess what?

You should go on over to Sparkles & Cheaterpants because the lovely Teeny blogged about this here blog. Did you see it? Pretty neat, huh? And, so so sweet. If you don't read her blog already, add it to your feed like, yesterday. First of all, she's really good about posting every day (something I'm so NOT good at!), and she's a fellow DIY-bride who is getting married in May of next year. She scrapbooks, has a dog, and takes amazing engagement pictures with her husband to-be Zac. Make sure to check her out! :)

In other news. I'm sick. So, so, so sick. The kind of sick that makes you promise yourself to never take your health for granted... again. It's awful. Luckily, I have a husband that brings me home supplies: reese peanut butter cups, coke, robotussin, and a get well card.

I literally stayed in bed until 2pm at which time I realized I needed food so I dragged myself to Dairy Queen. What better way to soothe a sore throat than with soft serve? I also realized that the only time I wear my Planet Fitness t-shirt (that I got when I joined the gym in July) is when I throw it on to go to Dairy Queen. So, it was about time to do that again cause we all know I'm not bringing myself to the gym.

That's about all I can muster up right now. Maybe more tomorrow. I mean, I still have to tell you about my birthday, and the amazing wedding we went to last weekend!

PLUS, tomorrow (if you can believe it!) is our 2 month anniversary!, I have a bridal shower on Saturday and we have another wedding on Sunday. Busy, busy! Hopefully, this sickness goes away!
